Week 3 in Room 300

Today we talked about how cities and towns got their names. The class is not entirely sure how Falls Church was named Falls Church! If you have a bit of information to share on this topic, please do share with us! We will have a name for our small town by Thursday!
Mrs. Potrykus, our fabulous paraprofessional, and I will be looking for a few good workers starting this week! Be on the look out for job descriptions and job applications! Everyone will be sharing classroom duties and earning some Tiger Bucks shortly!

This is the week of Stanford testing! Be sure to get some rest and eat breakfast each and every morning!
Along with the testing Ms. Allan’s class will start working on keyboarding, interviewing each other for a very quick biography writing activity and wrap up our exploration and review of place value concepts in math!

The town of Falls Church gets its name from The Falls Church on Lee Highway. The Falls Church gets its name because it was once located along the main tobacco rolling road from the Little Falls of the Potomac River.

Awesome! I didn’t know for sure that there was a tobacco rolling road but that makes sense as tobacco was what helped our colony grow! Thanks Ms. Lang!
