Where we are in time and place

This quarter started off with the class talking about migration and human survival. We continued, and finished, reading our literature books that centered around Jamestown. This was one of our first forays into the concept of human migration and survival.

As we began our Thanksgiving week the class explored our own family history and migration/immigration. We learned that our ancestors have come from many different places in the world, from India to the United Kingdom and from Poland to Massachusetts!

Currently we are investigating the survival of plants (flowering plants) and will be integrating that into our unit on migration and ecosystems. Today the class started researching the parts of a plant and will begin creating a 3D model of a flower.
